Carnival Spirit: From J’ouvert to Monday Mas!

photodom. NYC, proud to sponsor community exhibitions that highlight Black photographers, presents “Carnival Spirit: The Essence of J’ouvert and Monday Mas,” in partnership with Brooklyn Botanic Garden, I am CaribBEING, and Little Caribbean. This outdoor photographic exhibition, located outside the Brooklyn Botanic Garden entrances on Washington and Flatbush Avenues, celebrates the vibrant culture of the Caribbean community in New York City.

Featuring a curated collection of photographs from past Labor Day parades, this exhibit invites viewers to experience the energy, creativity, and unity of J’ouvert and Monday Mas. From the early morning freedom of J’ouvert to the colorful spectacle of Monday Mas, each image reflects the resilience and pride of the Caribbean diaspora.

“Carnival Spirit” honors these enduring cultural traditions, connecting the past with the present, and inspiring future generations to keep the spirit alive.
