Photo 101: Intro to 35mm Film Photography

New to film photography? This free class is your starting point. We’ll walk through the essentials you need to shoot 35mm with confidence: the different types of film cameras and how they work, the film stocks available and how to choose one, and the exposure triangle (aperture, shutter speed, ISO) so you understand what’s actually happening when you press the shutter. We’ll also cover the most common mistakes beginners make — and how to avoid them — plus hands-on practice loading and unloading a roll of film, one of the trickiest parts to get right the first time. We’ll wrap up with a short photowalk to put everything into practice, camera in hand, shooting for real. No experience necessary — just bring your curiosity (and a camera, if you have one).
